City of Sanctuary Regional Conference
We are sending two representatives from Hastings Community of Sanctuary to this event in London, hoping to meet people from all over the South East who are working to make a welcoming environment for the refugees coming into our country.
The day will include opportunities to hear what is happening across the region, as well as nationally within the City of Sanctuary network. There will be talks and workshops and lunch is provided. It promises to be an inspiring and wonderful day and a great chance for us to connect as a network and build momentum for the coming year.

Sanctuary in Parliament
Sanctuary in Parliament: Towards a Fairer System. Hastings Community of Sanctuary will be sending representatives to this year's event, where we will meet with our MP Amber Rudd or her representative, to discuss this years themes. These are: the right to work for people who have asylum claims outstanding for more than 6 months: extension of refugee family reunion: an and to indefinite immigration detention.
We will be joining discussion with MPs, refugees themselves and those working for and with them, about making a fairer, more compassionate system for people seeking sanctuary in the UK.
