Lift the Ban: Petition to Parliament 170,000 and counting!

Interview with Jay Kramer

The campaign for the right to work for people seeking asylum is gaining momentum, with an already huge petition growing every day and due to be presented to Parliament on 21st October. HCoS Lead for our Lift the Ban campaign Jay Kramer has given this interview with Hastings in Focus, explaining the realities of being forbidden to work, and the resulting poverty and loss of dignity, but also the enormous economic benefit to our country and society if people could work unrestricted after 6 months, as they await – perhaps for years – a decision on their asylum claim.
